Two people who were not looking for a third cat

Monty was born with an extra chromosome. The visible part of it is that he has no bridge in his nose, which changes the shape of his whole face and makes him sneeze more than most cats. Nothing else about him is unusual.

That was enough to keep him in a Copenhagen shelter well past kittenhood. People looked at the listing photo and moved on to the next one, over and over, for three years.

In August 2013 Mikala Fuglesang found him on the shelter website. She and her partner already had two cats and no intention of getting another. They drove out anyway and came home with him.
